Day 83: WTF?

First off, meet Lil’ Gossamer! He’ll be joining us in our travels while Gossamer is missing…

For those who attend Austin Community College, you may have noticed the search for a new mascot. I am not sure how many people actually are going to concern themselves over this issue. In fact, we are pretty sure no one is going to remotely care what we have to say in this little blog post of ours. The thing is, we at Gossamer’s Travels are completely obsessed with what the new mascot is going to be. For a while, we were cheering to be Chupacapra’s! How amazing would that be? Unfortunately, that mascot never made it and our dream of being Team Chupacapra faded away. As of now, ACC is having a final vote on four mascots: River Bats, Starblazers, Blazers, and Bbhoggawacts.

We refuse to be called Starblazers or Blazers. End of story.

River Bats is cute but very unimaginative.

Bbhoggawacts. What the hell is a Bbhoggawacts? Well, Madam or Sir, I shall tell you! Acctually, I’m just going to copy and paste what the ACC website says:

Pronounced (bo-ga-wax). Did you know “Keep Austin Weird” started with ACC? Actually, it was the brainchild of ACC Professor James (Red) Wassenich. A Bbhoggawact not only embraces the “Keep Austin Weird” theme, it is also an acronym for the eight counties that make up ACC’s 7,000-square-mile service area. Cross out the vowels and you have (B)astrop, (B)lanco, (H)ays, (G)illespie, (G)onzales, (W)illiamson, (C)aldwell, and (T)ravis Counties. A Bbhoggawact is a fictional character, 100% original, and can be defined by the community.

We still have no freakin’ idea what a Bbhoggawacts is but we knew we desperately want that to be our mascot.

Yay Team Bbhoggawacts!!!!!!!!!

Between A Rock and A Weird Place

We came to a point where we had to make a choice. We could either continue this project or end it. This project was based on Gossamer’s travels but he is no longer with us. We’ve searched, called, cried, and tried everything we could to find him, but no luck. After much debate and even more crying, we decided to continue the project. Gossamer wouldn’t want us to end it.

The problem is, Gossamer was unique. How do we continue without him? Well, obviously there will be changes. Until further notice, GJ is in charge. He misses his Papa, but he’s the best qualified for the job. He’s first act as head traveler was to call his family and friends. Many of them have volunteered to take Gossamer’s place during some trips. Over the next few weeks we will introduce the new members to our little traveling group.

Our Gossamer 365 project is still going. We won’t post every picture here for several reasons. Actually, just one reason: we’re lazy busy. If you still want to follow it, you just have to click this link.

For today though, here’s a few of my favorite Gossamer pictures:

This was one of our earlier pictures roughly 2 years ago. It was the first time people stared weirdly at us and it was far from the last.
Fredericksburg 1

We just adore this picture. Gossamer plays a pirate!!

Gossamer Meets Tony Todd! We were really nervous because we never really took pictures with other people.
Day 21: Gossy Meets Tony Todd

The Cuteness speaks for itself.
Day 72: Back Home!!!

He always gets stuck in the most random of places:

Our Favorite Spot:
Lake Pflugerville

Finally, the last picture he took with us:
Day 60: The Last Picture

So that’s it. Gossamer is gone and we have to move on now. We will continue traveling, reading, and going to strange events. We won’t give up looking for our Gossy though. If ANYONE in the Austin/Pflugerville/Round Rock area know where Gossamer is, please contact me immediately.

We miss him. We want him back.

First Contact

It has been a while since we have updated and for good reason. Gossamer was telling the truth. A green monster has been following him around. We have been desperately trying to track him down and get photo evidence. With much patience we were able to get the pictures below. Just click them to get a better look.

First we have a picture of some strange green thing with horns hiding. We placed a pumpkin pie to see if we can get him to appear.

Strange Creature

The plan works but we are still not able to get a clear shot of the little green thing.

Hungry Strange Creature

Next, Gossamer and I went to Fredericksburg, Texas for funsies. To our horror, we spotted the same green fur with horns.

Green Monster Sighting on Christmas Tree

We are still not sure who are what it is. There is also another problem. Gossamer was suppose to go on vacation to the Grand Canyon with a friend of his but was pushed out of his bag and tied up!!! Gossy says it was the green monster who did it. Poor Gossamer was left lost and crying for days before I was able to find him. I’m currently contacting those in charge of the trip to see what has happened. Little green monster, I will find you!

Monster Alert!!

Gossamer has been paranoid that some green creature has been following him around. GJ and I did not believe him… until now. While looking over our NaNoWriMo photos, we found this:

Nanowrimo Lockdown

There is some green thing right behind my laptop! (Click the picture for a better look.) We do not know what it is or why it is following Gossamer. Any information about this mysterious green creature will be very much appreciated.

We will continue to figure out what is going on post any new information we find.

Wish us luck.

Our first fan art!

My roommate drew a picture of Gossy and us at the park:

Hopefully this is just the first of many fan art pictures~

Big Red, Dallas, and Zombies! Oh, My!

During the weekend we stopped by the Dr. Pepper Museum and worked at the Dallas Comic-Con! The museum was just a random side trip to entertain our short attention spans. Gossy found a wall dedicated to Big Red, The Greatest Soda of All Time, and was beyond giddy-extreme. Unfortunately, the museum started to close and we had to leave.

Day 139: Little Red & Big Red

At the Dallas Comic-Con, it was beyond busy so we really didn’t have time to take a zillion pictures like we wanted to. Gossy didn’t even get to take pictures with anyone! Plus, there was a creepy kid who kept stalking us. He bought us stuff, so we forgave him… Anyways, the best part about conventions is trying out new food. We stopped by La Hacienda Ranch for dinner, and LOVED it. (Tapas Tacos are awesome-extreme)

Day 140: GJ Sized Tacos!

We’re back home now and back to the real world. School if officially over for the summer! We have the rest of the week to relax (while we are not at our job.) Today, we decided to have a bit of fun. We stumbled upon a cutout plywood thing of a person and bought it immediately. When we got home, we started working out what became Nigel the British Zombie. He’s so adorable!!

Isn’t he the cutest zombie ever?!

Random Pic #3

Hey there GJ!

Little GJ decided he wanted to play Hide-N-Seek! I found him in my bag. For such a tiny monster, he isn’t really good at this game. Oh well, better luck next time!
